Repertory, Junior, Teen, Senior & Ballet Companies

Our competitive dance companies are award-winning; receiving 7 Platinum awards and placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall in the small group piece category and 1st and 5th overall in the large group piece category at the Regional Showstopper Competition. Our performing groups provide serious dancers with the experience of dancing in a company situation. Keeping with our mission at MPDC, we strive to create a noncompetitive, positive and respectful environment to maximize each dancer’s physical and emotional development. The repertoire for each company (except the Ballet Co.) will consist of a variety of dance styles (jazz, ballet, modern, hip hop, lyrical, tap, etc…) as today’s dancer must be versatile. Dance styles will change from year to year. Our choreographers will challenge company members, as we are most interested in the growth and development of each student. We understand that every dancer has different strengths and weaknesses, and we try to showcase everyone in our choreography. Each dancer will learn at least 3 dances per year. All companies will work with our professional choreographers and have from 4-10 performing opportunities/competitions throughout the year.

Companies for Adult Dancers
Jazzworks Dance Company

Under the direction of Carol Marion Ceniti, Jazzworks has earned a reputation as one of the gems of Madison’s performing arts landscape. Sophisticated, technically proficient, and tremendously entertaining, Jazzworks presents a diverse repertoire of award-winning jazz, modern and contemporary ballet works. Jazzworks offers performances, lecture demonstrations, dance classes and guest choreography throughout the United States and in Europe. Carving a unique niche in the world of dance, their athletic, yet artistic performances are passionate and uplifting.
